Game Laws

Flooding/Spamming
Intentionally spamming or flooding of message boards or other communication venues may result in a warning, ban or jail term. This includes intentionally and continually attempting to disrupt conversations in progress. This can be a grey area - butting into conversations or starting a new topic is fine, intentionally posting nonsense is not. The intentional bumping of multiple old posts is also discouraged. You may be given a warning in advance - if you do, take advantage of it and stop whatever you're doing.

Player Harassment
A3 is not intended for players under the age of 16. Conflicts will arise, and players are expected to handle them in a fairly mature manner. General trash-talking is acceptable, repeated or excessive abuse is not, and is subject to punishments ranging from temporary communication bans, to jailing, to removal of all accounts from the game. While we're of the opinion that the fine features of the game prevent any serious harassment, there's always going to be numbskulls. Players are encouraged to use the Privacy Tools provided on their account to stop any unwanted player to player contact and report any attempt to circumvent these tools to Customer Service. As always, avoid griefing newbies, particularly in the game and chat help forums.

Threats/Stalking and Encouraging Suicide/Self Harm
Threatening other players with real life threats or information, encouraging other players to commit suicide or self harm, and stalking other players are all not only against the rules of the game but they may be illegal in your state or country. If you are a victim of any of these or a witness to them, please report the offender to the Customer Service team via a support ticket.

Any players found to be breaking any of the rules outlined here will receive a warning and/or have their communication privileges restricted in the game depending on the severity. If you are a repeat offender or your initial offense is considered to be serious, your game account will be subject to jail time or removal from the game.

Player Placed Links
Players must not attempt to mask links in order to trick players into viewing content or performing an action that they otherwise would not. Any links to adult/offensive content must be clearly marked as such to allow players the opportunity to decide if the content will be appropriate to view. Links to illegal content are not allowed.

Linking to unofficial A3 related content (such as informational pages, help guides, etc) is strictly prohibited outside of guilds. Guilds may link to their own A3 related content from within internal guild pages and the guild message board.

Player Placed Images
Images containing nudity follow the US and/or Australian laws on public nudity. Topless males are allowed, topless females are not. Nudity laws do not apply to works of art, subject to general consensus on what is art. In general there are little restrictions on image content, provided that offensive images are not placed where people who don't want to see them don't have to (i.e. Signatures). Images posted that are above PG-13 in content should have the "Is NSFW" (Not Safe For Work) button checked, or if in chat a notice that it is not work safe. (i.e. Check this out! Warning: NSFW). Bottomless nudity is never allowed.

Player Placed Videos
The default image appearing when a video is loaded and the actual content of the video must conform to all rules regarding player placed images and links.

Personal Privacy
You may not reveal any personal or identifiable information about any person (player or not). This includes real name, address, phone number, age, etc. Not only is it against game rules, depending on where you live it can be illegal.

Community Failure
Any activity that undermines the game community, presents a general nuisance to the community, or breaks the writ or spirit of any game law is forbidden. There is no set punishment for these actions, and it is up to the discretion of game staff to determine the penalty, dependent on the severity of the infraction.
